JOHANNESBURG - Residents in parts of Diepsloot are planning a protest over persistent darkness.
They intend to close schools, stores, and local businesses.
In addition to the trouble caused by the darkness, they claim the problem has intensified crime.
Residents say they have been without power for five months after Eskom disconnected their illegal transformers.
After months of interactions with the utility, they still have not been connected, even though they have now paid the initial fee they owed.
eNCA reporter Hloni Mtimkulu is monitoring developments in the area.
