Rand Water's maintenance project in final phase

JOHANNESBURG - Rand Water's maintenance programme will end at 9pm on Tuesday night.

But parts of Joburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and Madibeng in the North West will be affected for at least two weeks.

The final phase includes maintenance work at the Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant.

This will impact supply to the Palmiet Station with pumping reduced to 76 percent.

This means 24 percent of its capacity will be out of production.

The utility further warns that some areas may take longer to recover.

It hopes to have full supply restored within two weeks.
