JOHANNESBURG - Water woes are becoming desperate in parts of Johannesburg as the month-long Rand Water infrastructure maintenance project continues.
Authorities say the effects have not kicked in yet and current water cuts are a result of unplanned maintenance and repairs to pipe bursts by Joburg water.
For days now, residents, businesses and some essential service points have been without water.
As a result of the water shortages, essential services such as hospitals are also struggling to execute their mandates.
Authorities say water capacity at some reservoirs is improving, but it still remains to be seen how the full water situation will pen out.
