Police officer turned 'bank card thief' denied bail
DURBAN - The KwaZulu-Natal police officer caught with stolen bank cards has been denied bail.
Minenhle Makhaye made another appearance before the Durban magistrate’s court on Wednesday after being arrested earlier this month.
He was caught with a bank card belonging to a hijacking victim.
Zara Ramsamy (11) was killed during the ordeal.
In delivering the bail judgment, magistrate Ashwin Singh said Makhaye would likely destroy evidence and intimidate witnesses should he be released.
