Operation Shanela nabs over 700 suspects this weekend
JOHANNESBURG - Over 700 suspects have been arrested during the latest Operation Shanela blitz.
Gauteng police commissioner Tommy Mthombeni led a high-density operation on Saturday night.

Mthombeni highlighted the arrest of 758 suspects, the seizure of multiple firearms, and the crackdown on illegal activities, including vehicle hijacking and illegal liquor outlets.
"This operation demonstrates the SAPS' commitment in addressing criminal activity, ensuring public safety and enforcing compliance with regulations in our communities," police said in a statement.
