Opening of Parliament | Mixed reaction to Ramaphosa’s address

CAPE TOWN - Some parties in the GNU believe President Cyril Ramaphosa's speech touched on key issues.

But others remain sceptical.

The President says government will concentrate on three priorities over the next five years.

They are driving inclusive growth and job creation, the high cost of living, and building a developmental state.

IFP President and Cooperative Governance Minister Velenkosini Hlabisa says the President hit the right mark.

He says growing the economy lies with local municipalities.

DA leader and Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen says the President touched on all the key issues.

But United Democratic Movement MP Nqabayomzi Kwankwa said Ramaphosa's speech lacked a full account of the work done in the last five years.
