Nyanga taxi violence | Commuters scared as violence continues

CAPE TOWN - Beefed-up law enforcement will remain in place in Nyanga in the Western Cape following the torching of minibus taxis at the local transport interchange.

Disagreements over money within one of the taxi associations operating at the rank is believed to be part of why the violence broke out.

Police are yet to apprehend those responsible for torching the vehicles.

Transport bosses say they will meet with provincial government officials as well as the police to eradicate criminality within the sector.
