NPA studying Life Esidimeni inquest judgment

JOHANNESBURG - The NPA is studying the Life Esidimeni inquest judgment before deciding on a way forward.

Judge Mmonoa Teffo found former Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu and Makgabo Manamela to have negligently caused the deaths of some of the patients.

It's been eight years since 144 mental patients died after being relocated from the Life Esidimeni facility to ill-equipped NGOs.
