Meyiwa murder trial hangs in the balance yet again

PRETORIA - The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is facing yet another dilemma.

Advocate Charles Mnisi, the new lawyer for accused 1 Muzi Sibiya, has made it clear that he will withdraw as Sibiya's legal representative if he is not granted more time to prepare.

His ultimatum comes after the court denied his latest request, despite a previous two-and-a-half-month postponement.

Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng has given Mnisi until Tuesday to begin cross-examining lead investigator, Bongani Gininda.

The question now is: What will happen if he chooses to quit?
