Merafong crash | Taxi driver's family waiting to confirm his identity

JOHANNESBURG - The family of the taxi driver involved in Wednesday morning’s deadly crash in Merafong hope to have his remains identified by Tuesday.

On Friday, the process of identifying the 12 burned bodies began via virtual identification and DNA sampling.

One family was able to match a body, but not conclusively.

The taxi driver’s relatives have also moved to clear speculation about the state of the scholar transport.

“We’re waiting for Monday to have answers on the way forward from officials. We should have more answers on Monday or Tuesday," said Rabagolo Mogoje.
