JOHANNESBURG - Multiple people have been injured in Slovo Park in Coronationville, Johannesburg, after a man reportedly doused a shack with petrol.
eNCA reporter Lindiwe Mpanza spoke with police spokesperson Mavela Masondo, who said the case is still in its preliminary stages.
Masondo said 19 women and one child were in the structure. The suspected arsonist was reportedly assaulted by members of the community following the blaze.
The man was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries, where he died upon arrival.
Masondo said a case of murder has been opened.
