Load reduction measures continue in parts of Joburg

JOHANNESBURG - City Power is warning its grid is critically constrained with immediate risks of blackouts.

This as it continues to implement load-reduction in parts of Johannesburg.

Areas to be affected on Wednesday include Alexandra, Kibler Park and Naturena.

The utility introduced load-reduction on Monday to take pressure off the network due to high consumption.

Over 80 high-density areas have been grouped into six blocks which see cuts of over two hours.

At the same time, the utility is dealing with a number of unscheduled outages.
