Life Esidimeni tragedy | Families want Mahlangu, Manamela behind bars

JOHANNESBURG - Affected families of the Life Esidimeni tragedy say they want to see the officials responsible behind bars. 

This is after the judgment in the inquest found that former health MEC Qedani Mahlangu and former HOD Makgabo Manamela negligently caused some of the deaths.

Bereaved families have welcomed the judgment, saying the move that killed 144 mental health patients was a massacre.

It's now up to the National Prosecuting Authority to criminally charge Mahlangu and Manamela.
