    PRETORIA - The lead investigating officer in the Senzo Meyiwa murder case says messages by singer Kelly Khumalo to her sister Zandie, a year before the soccer stars' killing convinced him she hated him and wanted to quote 'get rid' of him.

    Bongani Gininda continued being cross-examined by the defence on his investigation naming Khumalo as the mastermind.

    He says more evidence also links accused 2, Bongani Ntanzi, as the second intruder inside the house.

    Meyiwa was shot dead at Khumalo’s Vosloorus home in 2014.

    But while Gininda says he wanted to charge Khumalo with conspiracy to commit murder and murder in 2020 he says a warrant of arrest was not authorised by the National Prosecuting Authority.

    He is adamant intruders came inside the Khumalo home that night, one of them accused number 2.

    The trial continues on Thursday.
