JOHANNESBURG - After days of water shutdowns in Johannesburg, residents are hoping for relief at the taps.
The water shortages were caused by maintenance work on the Eikenhof and Zwartkopjes pump stations.
The work was concluded last night after an 86-hour operation.

The maintenance led to widespread interruptions across large parts of Gauteng.
Affected areas included Soweto, Randburg, Roodepoort, Lenasia, and parts of Johannesburg Central.
Water tankers were deployed to help in some of the affected areas.
