Home Affairs facilitating Libyans' deportation

JOHANNESBURG - More than 90 Libyan nationals who were arrested at an illegal military training camp in Mpumalanga are set to be deported on Sunday morning.

They were given 48 hours to leave South Africa after charges against them were withdrawn on Thursday.

The NPA says there was not enough evidence to pursue criminal charges against the men.

Last month, the Libyan nationals were busted in White River.

Firearms and drugs were also found on the premises of the illegal training camp.

Investigations into the owner of the facility are still ongoing.

Security services regulatory body, PSIRA, says the camp had no authority to train foreign nationals in military-style tactics.
