Williams fled the country after exposing high-level corruption at Bain & Company.
He says South African authorities must adopt a consistent approach to addressing corporate misconduct.

Bain & Company has been included in the Project Management Office of the Energy Council of SA.
Both firms have been implicated in the state capture scandal and other corruption controversies.
Bain & Co is currently banned from doing business with the SA government for 10 years, starting in 2022.
In the UK they were served a three-year ban from UK state contracts, but that ban was abruptly lifted in 2023.
