Foreign nationals escape reported hostage in Lombardy East

JOHANNESBURG- Approximately 50 foreign nationals believed to have been held hostage in Lombardy East have escaped. 

The whereabouts of the escapees is unknown. 

A neighbor, who spoke to eNCA under anonymity, said they were left shocked and terrified by the incident.

According to the neighbour, they heard noises in the morning and were alarmed by the commotion outside. 

When they looked, they saw scores of foreign nationals running down the street, some naked and others carrying bread.

The resident has called on police to act swiftly in finding the owner of the house wherein the scores were allegedly held hostage.
