JOHANNESBURG - A disturbing health crisis is unfolding in our country.
Food poisoning incidents have claimed the lives of several children and left hundreds more hospitalised.
Last month, the Health Department deployed 80 environmental health inspectors to investigate.

But the crisis has intensified in recent weeks.
Health expert, Kgosi Letlape, who sits on Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Health, said communities have been left on their own.
"Yes this is an emergency, yes it should be thoroughly investigated," he said.
