DURBAN - Six people have been killed in Durban after heavy storms ripped through the city on Monday.
The KwaZulu-Natal Government is now assessing damage in the area.
Several homes and other structures have been badly damaged.
The storm also knocked out power lines, leaving many parts of eThekwini without electricity.
Those left homeless are being housed in public facilities.
Emergency services remain on high alert as severe weather warnings remain in place.
Some roads are still closed, hampering rescue and relief operations.
