PRETORIA - The Health Department has confirmed one person has died of MPox in South Africa.
Five cases have been reported so far, with two patients still in hospital.
Health Minister Joe Phaahla says none had any travel history, suggesting all cases were transmitted locally.

The department says it is working on getting more treatment and an MPox vaccine.
Phaahla says emergency approval has been granted to use Tecovirimat.
He says they're also looking at who should be prioritised in getting vaccinated.
