JOHANNESBURG - The Road Traffic Management Corporation says almost 7,500 people were arrested on South African roads over the festive season.
Among their offences were drunk driving, speeding and attempted bribery.
The highest breath alcohol level recorded was on the R61 in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape.

The highest speed recorded was on the N1 in Limpopo, where a motorist was caught driving at 209km/hr.
More than one million vehicles were stopped and checked by Road Traffic Authorities.
The RTMC says roads leading out of coastal areas and neighbouring states are expected to experience high traffic volumes this weekend.
