MORGAN BAY - Many holidaymakers are flocking to beaches this festive season.
But some visits to the coastline end in tragedy if swimmers don't observe warnings when out at sea.
South Africa has an average of around 1,500d drownings annually, with many deaths recorded during the festive season.

The rip currents at tourism destination Morgan Bay, in the Eastern Cape, have proven problematic for swimmers.
The NSRI has also urged members of the public not to drink alcohol before they go swimming as this leaves them vulnerable to drowning.
