JOHANNESBURG - Road traffic officials are warning motorists to abide by the rules of the road this holiday season.
To date, over 160 accidents have already taken place in Gauteng with that number expected to grow.

Officials are also warning motorists to be on the lookout for pedestrians who account for a large percentage of the fatalities.
Authorities say law enforcement operations will intensify as traffic volumes are expected to soar ahead of Christmas.
