JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Police have appealed to families whose loved ones are missing to check the Germiston government mortuary.
This as police struggle to identify some of the bodies discovered in Kempton Park and surrounding areas.
"The appeal will be to all the families, whether you are in Pretoria, whether you're in West Rand, Sedibeng, anywhere. Just take an opportunity, maybe to go if there is someone of your family who has been missing, or you don't have contact, you stopped having contact with a female person in their early, from late 20s to early 30s, etc," said Acting Provincial Commissioner Fred Kekana.
"Go to the government mortuary in Germiston."

Six of the victims in a string of deaths in Ekurhuleni remain unidentified.
So far, two victims have been positively identified in the Ekurhuleni killings.
Jogger Elizabeth 'Tsontso' Moselakgomo was positively identified on Monday.
The 38-year-old went missing last week after leaving her home in Rhodesfield for a run.

On Wednesday, another victim was positively identified.
Itumeleng Kekana was reported missing on 17 July and is one of eight bodies discovered in the East Rand.
Originally from QwaQwa in the Free State, her identification brings some answers to a family that has been desperate for her return.
