Evicted Zimbabwean white farmers reject compensation deal

HARARE - Zimbabwe white farmers violently evicted from their farms 20 years ago say the government is misleading the world about land compensation.

Last week ,Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube announced a compensation deal had been agreed with the evicted farmers who are already receiving payouts in a $311 million total compensation deal.

White farmers Compensation Steering Committee chairperson, Deon Theron, says the majority of evicted white farmers have rejected the Zimbabwe government’s compensation deal.

Theron says government officials have been reluctant to reengage with them over these issues.
