DURBAN - Eight suspects have been killed in a shootout with KwaZulu-Natal police near Richards Bay.
They were allegedly en route to rob a foreign-owned business when officers apprehended them.
The group has also been linked to cash-in-transit robberies.
The suspects were found in possession of three firearms, two replica guns and housebreaking implements.
Police said in a statement that investigations are underway to establish if the firearms are linked to other crimes.
