JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg is reviewing its R200 monthly surcharge on prepaid electricity.
Finance MMC Dada Morero says the decision was taken after the city was inundated with complaints.

The new charge was introduced by City Power on 1 July and sparked widespread outrage.
The utility said it was meant to address long-standing disparities between prepaid and postpaid customers.
But experts say the tariff will lead to energy poverty.
