Cape Town’s ganglands | Residents voice frustration over ‘captured’ Cape Flats

HANOVER PARK - Rampant gun violence, extortion and a lack of police resources have topped the list of complaints residents from crime-ridden communities in the Western Cape raised to Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.

Mchunu, joined by police top brass, interacted with residents from various communities on the Cape Flats to listen to their grievances relating to violent crime.

Officials are visiting various provinces to dissect crime trends to help them readjust and change their approach to tackling the scourge.
