CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has approved the release of well-located City land for affordable housing in various parts of the metro.
These include Lansdowne, Ottery, Brackenfell, Wesfleur and Belhar.
Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says 1,300 units will be built.
He's has described the housing developments as a game-changer for families in need of well-located affordable rental housing.
Hill-Lewis says there is more to come.
