Cape of storms | Residents relive ‘apocalyptic’ conditions

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape authorities are concerned dams could overflow due to continued rainfall.

Some communities have already been evacuated.

Heavy downpours have resulted in flooding and mudslides in some areas.

Local Government MEC Anton Bredell says thousands have been left homeless and schools are closed on Thursday morning.

Some community members explained their frustration with being cut off from facilities.
