CAPE TOWN - There was pandemonium at the Cape Town International Airport on Thursday night.
The police's bomb squad was deployed to respond to a security alert.
The unit moved in after the crew of a FlySafair aircraft was alerted to an onboard security threat.
Passengers and crew were taken off the flight for a sweep to be done.
The bomb squad also conducted a thorough sweep of the airport.
The flight was set to take off for OR Tambo International Airport.
ACSA is assuring travellers that security measures are in place to ensure their safety.
