Axed MK Party MPs challenge dismissal in court

CAPE TOWN - Ten of 18 dismissed MK Party members are asking the Western Cape High Court to reverse their dismissals.

The group claim they were removed as MPs to make way for Floyd Shivambu and other EFF members.

The former EFF Deputy President and another high-profile member, Mzwanele Manyi, left the red berets last week to join the new party.

The group also wants Parliament to be interdicted from swearing in their replacements.

The 18 MK party members were dismissed only a month after being sworn in as MPs.
