JOHANNESBURG - The Hawks, Asset Forfeiture Unit and Special Investigating Unit have seized assets worth over R52-million.
They include nine properties, 31 vehicles and a boat trailer.
The assets and properties are linked to 22 Public Works managers and service providers in Mpumalanga.
They are being investigated for involvement in fraudulent Covid-19 PPE tenders.
“There was collusion between service providers and officials to make sure that they give them contracts but no services were delivered on those contracts,” said SIU spokesperson Kaizer Kgayango.
