DURBAN - The DA says its controversial burning flag election ad has achieved its goals, and the party is pleased.

It believes it will not compromise its support base, but rather enlarge it.

Speaking at a party rally in Durban, leader John Steenhuisen says it is confident of victory in Gauteng and KZN.

"It's exactly the type of advert that you in the last three weeks of the campaign," he said.
