2024 elections | Call for government of national unity

JOHANNESBURG - Markets -- both locally and internationally -- will be keeping a close eye on the kind of government that will emerge after this year's elections. 

That's according to economist, Dr Iraj Abedian. 

The results show that the ANC has lost its majority vote, triggering talks of a coalition government. 

Abedian says political parties need to focus more on the government of national unity than coalition talks.         

"We need to talk less of coalitions and talk of the government on national unity," he said.
