JOHANNESBURG - An amount of R400,000 has been put on the table for anyone with information that could assist in the investigation into the deaths of eight women whose bodies were discovered in Ekurhuleni.
This is one of several measures being implemented as investigations into the matter continue.
Other measures include the establishment of a high-level multidisciplinary team to lead the investigation.
There will also be an increased police presence through Operation Shanela in Kempton Park and surrounding areas.

This was confirmed during a media briefing on Tuesday night following a meeting between senior police and government officials.
The high-level delegation included Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia, Women Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga, Deputy Police Minister Polly Boshielo, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane.
Cachalia said police would “lock down” Kempton Park in the coming weeks.
“The community will see the presence of the South African Police Service, and we will mobilise all necessary law enforcement capabilities, working with our communities,” he said.
