DURBAN - Four board members have resigned from the Comrades Marathon Association.
General Manager Mqondisi Ngcobo and Deputy Les Burnard resigned, following an explosive special general meeting in Pietermaritzburg.
The meeting was held to discuss the running of the association after allegations of racism, vote rigging and misuse of funds.
One board member was banned for life while another escaped with sanctions.
KwaZulu-Natal Athletics President Steve Mkasi confirmed the resignations.
