CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa has officially signed the Climate Change Act into law.
Nearly a decade in the making this Act is set to become the foundation for South Africa's approach to climate action moving forward.
The Act will mainstream climate targets across all government ministries and formalise the Presidential Climate Commission.
The World Wide Fund for Nature South Africa, has welcomed the act and it stresses the urgency of implementation given the ongoing impacts of climate change on natural systems.
