World Tourism Day | Heritage site boost for Gauteng

JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Tourism Authority says it hopes several newly-declared World Heritage sites will boost revenue.

About 10 sites including Freedom Square, the Union Buildings, Mandela House and Constitution Hill have been added to the list.

The tourism sector needs a boost as it is yet to fully recover from Covid-19 downturn

As part of the celebrations, some of the leading women in the country were honoured, including the newly-appointed Chief Justice Mandisa Maya.
