WATCH | Township karate club fighting for chance to compete in Japan

JOHANNESBURG - Ten young budding Karate champions are fighting for their chance to compete at an international tournament in Japan later this month.

Four of the ten athletes are deaf, and it will all be their first time on the global stage.

All of them under the age of 16, but they don't have the money to make it to the Dream Cup festival in the Far East. Each athlete needs R24 500 for flights and accommodation.

The website set up to raise funds has so far raised just over a thousand rand - a far cry from the at least 220-thousand they'll need at least.

To amplify the call for financial assistance Shihan Masedisa Mojaki, the owner of Mas sé Dojo and one of her students Kamohelo Nendzanani had a discussion with the eNCA.
