National Arts Festival celebrates golden jubilee

MAKHANDA, EASTERN CAPE -  The National Arts Festival  is bringing a sense of camaraderie and excitement to the dozens of talented artists who've converged in Makhanda.

The event which is now in its 50th year, is the longest and most diverse arts festival in South Africa.

Event organisers say they also had to fight tooth and nail to ensure that one of their main funders, the National Lottery, remains on board.  Ronald Masinda filed this report.
