CAPE TOWN - The 2024 Social Cohesion Index released this week tells an interesting story about social cohesion in different parts of the country. 

The research conducted by the Inclusive Society Institution shows that Limpopo has the highest levels of social cohesion, while KwaZulu-Natal has the lowest levels.

Simply put, social cohesion is social harmony or a sense of belonging formally defined as the strength of the bonds that connect people in a group or society. 

According to the CEO of the Inclusive Society Institution, Daryl Swanepoel provinces like Gauteng there is high in inequality visibility.

However you find people living in Limpopo there is high sense of community.

Where there is high present different ethnic groups social cohesion tend to be high than monolithic group.
