JOHANNESBURG - The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris was a spectacular affair.  

It was the first time that the event happened outside the confines of a stadium. The ceremony took athletes from around the world down the River Seine on a 6-kilometre ferry ride.

The event was an ochestrated storyline with each scene opening with different historic building as a backdrop.

The theme for the event, turned production, was set to reinterpret history, with the core message being that of promoting humanity and inclusivity.
