PRETORIA - Treasury budget cuts are straining healthcare workers and patients across provincial health facilities.
Provincial health departments are also failing to fill vacant posts as they don’t have enough money to pay new employees.

The Free State is the most affected province, with a 22.4% vacancy rate of doctors, followed by Mpumalanga at 18.5%.
