Water report shows decline in water quality, management
JOHANNESBURG - The first Blue and No Drop Water report in nearly a decade has been released.
It assesses water quality as well as water conservation and demand.
In general, it does not paint a good picture, showing a decline in water quality and management and an increase in unstable systems.

The interim green drop report – regulating wastewater treatment works – was also released.
The Blue and No Drop report and interim Green Drop report point to increasing problems that need urgent attention.
For example, just 46% of water was fit for consumption last year.
