JOHANNESBURG - A fake Home Affairs office allegedly used to marry off South Africans to undocumented foreign nationals, has been discovered in Durban.
Police raided a block of flats in Greyville and arrested three suspects.
They say suspects would get hold of identity documents of South African women, and marry them to strangers.
This would then help the fake husbands to attain South African citizenship.
A Home Affairs official is accused of working in cahoots with the suspects.
Police seized application forms, copies of identity documents and electronic devices.
The suspects face charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
