JOHANNESBURG - On Friday was D-Day for parties to resolve their differences over clauses 4 and 5 of the Bela Act.

The clauses give the Basic Education Department greater control over admissions policies and compel SGBs to submit their school language policies to provincial heads of department for approval.

Many have opposed the contentious clauses.
