JOHANNESBURG - As South Africa commemorates Human Rights Day, the government’s failure to prosecute perpetrators of apartheid-era crimes is once again under the spotlight.

There are renewed calls for a commission of inquiry to probe allegations that political interference stopped the NPA from prosecuting people who never applied or were denied amnesty by the Truth & Reconciliation Commission.

There are fears that some families may never see justice.
