JOHANNESBURG - The Environmental Affairs Department is sending 12 of the fastest land animals to India.
It is part of a cooperation agreement between the two countries to reintroduce the species.

In 2022, India received eight cheetahs from Namibia which were released at the Kuno National Park.
South Africa plans to send a similar number annually over the next 8 to 10 years to help reestablish a viable population.
